It'd been a stupid thing to do. Izzy and Jace had given him the spell book as a joke. The thing looked old but his siblings were sure that it was fake. It was just some new age book that had been stained and beaten up to look authentic. Alec hadn't been so sure, but one night when they were all too drunk to know better, Alec had recited the words of one of the spells. Of course it'd been him. He was the only one who knew Latin and if magic was real, he wasn't going to let it effect his siblings.

At first they assumed nothing happened, laughing over the paper cut that Alec had given himself when Church had knocked over the stack of DVDs sitting on the coffee and Alec had sliced his finger on a page. It was a jump scare, but nothing dangerous had happened. It wasn't until later... when Alec was alone that he realized that the book was real.

Which was how he ended up with an incubus in his apartment. an incredibly beautiful, hot incubus that decided that Alec was his next snack. When Alec panicked and somehow managed to keep from falling into bed - or whatever convenient surface the demon could find - Magnus eventually quit trying to get him naked. Temporarily of course.

Instead he decided that he was Alec's new roommate. Alec tried to convince Magnus that the summoning was an accident. He tried to banish him. Nothing worked. Since the arcane hadn't succeeded, Alec tried a simpler method. Stretched out on the couch, he studiously ignored the incubus, trying to read his textbook instead of ogle his new 'roommate'.

"You could without trying," Magnus points out, again unable to help his grin. "And the gentlemen, too."

Not that Magnus was in any way, shape, or form a gentleman, but Alec drove him a little wild, too.

Case in point: He watched Alec step forward with wide cat eyes, taking in the young man and the bold way in which he seemed to close the distance between them. Magnus wanted to reach out and grab him. But there was something to be noticed, too, in the way that Alec breathed in to calm himself.

Was it really so terrible to be near Magnus?

He stifled that thought -- of course it is -- and grinned.

"That's all I'm suggesting," he said. If more happened then....

Alec didn't believe that he could be that attractive to either sex, but foolish or not, he did want to be interesting to a certain someone. "What about someone who isn't obviously a gentleman?" An incubus wouldn't be described in those terms, but Magnus hadn't really crossed any lines. He hadn't done anything unscrupulous to seduce Alec.

Biting his lower lip, he reminded himself of all the reasons why he had to be careful around Magnus. And why it was a terrible idea to try to prove that his self-control could hold when he was so close to the demon. Usually when he was near Magnus, he had to fight the urge to kiss his roommate. Now, he was captivated by the gold and green of Magnus' eyes. "Your eyes are beautiful." Wait, that wasn't what he was supposed to say. "Uh - I mean I would like to learn to dance."

If the first question hadn't been enough to make Magnus still -- curious and careful as a cat -- then the second comment definitely did the trick.

No one said his eyes were beautiful. Terrifying, maybe. The things of nightmares or dark seduction. But never simply beautiful. Never admired openly and frankly and... sweetly.

If demons could blush, he would have right then and there. But as it was, Magnus could only sit on the countertop, feeling his mouth go dry.

"...Sorry?"

Magnus looked startled and... like how Alec felt when Magnus said something flirty and charming and he couldn't quite process what was going on. It took Alec a few seconds to rewind their conversation and puzzle through what had confused Magnus. The comment about a gentleman? That had to be obvious when Magnus was always teasing him and trying to seduce him. Dancing? They'd already discussed that and Alec had said that he wanted to learn.

That left the comment about Magnus' eyes. "Your eyes. They're beautiful." They had been unnerving at first, proof that his roommate wasn't human, but once Alec got used to them, he hadn't been afraid. After that it wasn't difficult to notice how attractive Magnus' eyes were.

Hoping that he wasn't doing something foolish, he leaned in and brushed a quick kiss against Magnus' lips. "Sometimes when I look at them, I completely forget what I'm going to say."

Magnus can't help himself. He's a creature of vices, of passions and bad decisions. It's in his very core. It doesn't matter that the kiss is quick, a brush of lips. It inspires a fire in the incubus' veins all the same.

His leg hooks around Alec's, drawing him closer as he reaches out to slide his hand through the hair at the back of Alec's head. In a second, if Alec's body allows, they're practically flush together and Magnus' lips are hovering over Alec's.

"Kiss me again."

The kiss had been a terrible idea. No matter how brief the contact had been, it made Alec want to do more than just kiss Magnus. He knew that there was a danger. He'd seen enough illustrations in the books he'd read to know that Magnus was someone he should be terrified of, but he wasn't afraid. Magnus wasn't forcing him. The hand on his nape made him want to lean in, not try to get away.

Inhaling sharply when they ended up pressed together, Alec hesitated for a moment, almost blurting out that he'd never really kissed anyone. Not someone that he wanted to kiss. Cupping Magnus' cheek, he hoped that the incubus couldn't see how nervous he was. Before he could talk himself out of it, Alec shifted closer, finally giving in to temptation and kissing Magnus.

He could see how nervous Alec was and Magnus ate it up like something delicious. Rarely had he encountered someone so inexperienced who, at the same time, knew what he wanted. Knew that he wanted Magnus, without any kind of magical, demonic finagling on the incubus' part. It was thrilling and a little bit of an ego boost.

Magnus' eyes fluttered shut as he leaned into the kiss. He didn't press for too much, didn't immediately dive in the way he wanted to, but it was clear from how he kissed him, he was eager and willing.

He wanted to see how far Alec would go without any undue influence from Magnus. How much of this was real.

He was being foolish. This was dangerous. He shouldn't have given in to temptation. He should have ignored how much he wanted to kiss Magnus. Alec had lived with self-denial for years so it should have been simple to back away from the incubus instead of closing the distance between them for a kiss.

It was stupid. Reckless. Maybe if Magnus had done something that had made Alec think that he was being coerced in some way, he would have been able to look away, but Magnus hadn't done anything to bespell him. Maybe if he hadn't been so surprised that Alec thought his eyes were beautiful, Alec wouldn't have let himself have something he'd wished for since he'd realized that Magnus wasn't going to simply pounce on him and devour him.

When Magnus didn't pull away or try to take control, he began to deepen the kiss. Sliding his fingers from Magnus' jaw to his hair, Alec tried to remember that he should be cautious but logic kept slipping away. Heart racing at finally being close to Magnus, he made a soft sound against Magnus' lips. Wrapping his arms around the incubus' waist, he pulled Magnus closer. It might not be the most skilled kiss Magnus had received, but it was earnest, eager, offering Magnus all the longing and frustration that Alec had been trying to hide.

This was... This was more than Magnus could have hoped for, had ever experienced. He felt lost, like a boat on the sea without a mooring. He wanted to devour Alec, of course. It was natural instinct. But this was unlike any kiss that Magnus had ever had, and the newness of it confused him.

That confusion didn't take away from how much he liked it, though, how much he wanted more of Alec's gentle touch, how much he thrilled at that soft noise from the human.

He scooted forward as best he could, pressing his body against Alec, looping his arms around his neck and holding him close. He wanted this kiss to go on forever, for them to stay in this moment where nothing else mattered except the two of them, just beings needing each other.

Moaning into the kiss when Magnus moved closer, he knew that he was in trouble. Magnus could do anything he wanted and Alec would agree. Not because Magnus was a demon. If it was that simple, Alec would fight his feelings and gain some measure of self control. He knew when Magnus was using his demon charm on him.

This was simple. This was kiss shared without compulsion or the hunger that Alec was afraid would destroy him. This was what he'd been wanting while he avoided all those blind dates and hook ups that his siblings had set up for him.

Eventually he pulled away, needing to catch his breath, resting his forehead against Magnus' for a moment. Then Alec kissed Magnus again, trusting Magnus not to harm him
as he lost himself in the feeling of the two of them wrapped around each other.

Terror made Magnus' chest seize up in the moment that Alec pulled away, fear that he would run away and pretend like this never happened. But all he did was rest his forehead against Magnus', a gesture the demon was familiar with but not so personally, so genuinely intimately, and try to catch his breath.

Magnus did, too, but he keened softly once Alec was kissing him again. His hands started to move now, running through Alec's hair, moving down his shoulders. Not down his chest, there wasn't enough room between them to manage that.

He broke the kiss periodically, just for a pant of breath, and to murmur against Alec's mouth. "You're amazing."

When Magnus made that sound, he almost pulled away, afraid he'd done something wrong. Maybe Magnus didn't want him to kiss him again. Maybe he was somehow doing it wrong. Alec's experiences with kissing hadn't been pleasant, usually involving giggly, drunk girls at the clubs Izzy liked or the end of an awkward date.

He began to pull away when Magnus' fingers caught in his hair, distracting him from his worry that Magnus didn't want this, want him.

Magnus wouldn't keep kissing him if he didn't want to be kissed.

When he heard those words, Alec almost felt dizzy from the shock of them. Magnus was an incubus. How could he be impressed with a virgin who barely knew how to kiss? "I am?"

"Yes," Magnus chuckled in response, and it was a dark, sensuous thing coupled with a nip of teeth to Alec's lower lip, a tug to ask him not to pull away, despite his surprise.

"You're afraid, but you're not." He cupped the back of Alec's neck, holding him to another kiss, this one with the tease of tongue and the promise of more.

"Do you know how rare that is? For me?"

Whimpering at the sensation of teeth against his lip, his eyes fluttered closed as he tried to steady his breathing. What Magnus had said didn't make sense but they were kissing before Alec had a chance to ask what he meant.

Shivering at the hint of more than the kisses they'd shared, Alec slowly tried to focus on Magnus' questions. "I'm not afraid of you or this." After he said the words, he realized they was true. He wasn't afraid of Magnus or the attraction he felt, it was the consequences that Alec feared. Magnus' nature might hurt him, but not the person who was kissing him. "Am I a first?" he blurted out before he thought of how offensive or painful the question might be.

Oh, that was a good noise. Other parts of Magnus beyond his mind and mouth were beginning to react their closeness. He didn't want to scare Alec off with that, make him think that he had only one thing on his mind, so he shifted on the counter but didn't scoot away.

Lucky for Magnus, by the time that Alec said he wasn't afraid of him, the demon had moved his lips in a slow, steady line down Alec's neck. He could hide the faint blush that came from out of nowhere, gently dusting his cheeks.

"Everyone's always afraid," he murmured. "You'd be the first to say that."

It was difficult to remember why he was afraid while Magnus was kissing his neck. Biting his lip, he braced more of his weight against the counter as his knees tried to forget that they were supposed to support him.

Demon. Magnus was a demon. That's why Alec was supposed to be afraid.

"I'm afraid of what could happen." he admitted, embarrassed at how his voice quavered when Magnus found a sensitive spot. His hands caught in Magnus' shirt and his breath hitched as he tried explain without insulting Magnus. "But not of you." Magnus' nature was dangerous, deadly according to the books that Alec had read, but the being who was kissing him wasn't someone to fear. If Magnus wanted to kill him, he would have done it already. "You won't hurt me."

They were straying close to a serious conversation, but despite that, Magnus couldn't help but indulge himself, scraping his teeth and leaving hot breath against that sensitive spot on Alec's neck that made him quiver. He wanted to completely undo him; because that was his nature, as a demon.

"You have a lot of faith in me," Magnus murmured with a self-depreciating chuckle. He knew his nature, he knew what he was supposed to do, but at the same time, he found himself wondering if he really had to. If this couldn't just be because he wanted to.

"What are you afraid of happening?"

When Alec had considered his hypothetical first time that he wasn't sure would ever happen, he hadn't imagined that he would be so loud. But he couldn't hold back the whimper and gasp caused by Magnus teasing his neck. His fingers slipped beneath Magnus' shirt, startling him when he felt warm skin instead of fabric. Tentatively, he traced a line along Magnus' spine, knowing that he was taking a dangerous risk, but unable to stop.

"If you wanted to get rid of me, you would have already killed me." Not exactly romantic, but truthful. Magnus could easily murder him in his sleep or seduce him against his will. Instead he flirted and distracted, driving Alec crazy but not actually harming him.

After how Magnus had reacted before, Alec didn't want to tell him about the things he'd read, but he deserved to know about those fears. "Everything I read said that after we - if we - I - " Closing his eyes he tried to focus on finding the right words instead of asking Magnus to keep kissing his neck. "Humans can't survive a night with an incubus."

Can't survive. Oh. Oh. Alec honestly thought that he would die if he had sex with Magnus.

Which was a possibility, if Magnus wanted it to be. If Alec were with any other incubus, it would practically be a given. But it didn't have to be that way. It didn't have to end so terribly. It was only the demonic impulses that made it so.

And Alec was doing a good job of taking Magnus' impulses and turning them on their head.

"I doesn't have to be like that." He licks a stripe up Alec's neck, then pulls away enough to rest their foreheads together. Magnus is breathing hard.

"I just need-- I just need your energy. Not your life."

Mentally bracing himself for Magnus to push him away, he twitched and made a surprised sound when Magnus licked him instead. Blushing at his reaction, he still couldn't quite believe that Magnus wasn't angry after the fights they'd had about Alec's assumptions about demons.

"It doesn't?" He trusted the incubus, more than he probably should, but he still couldn't stop himself from being wary of that reassurance. He knew that Magnus wouldn't hurt him, but the hesitation made him wonder if there was more to that explanation that what the demon wanted to tell him. Cupping Magnus' jaw, he tried to keep his voice steady. "Wouldn't taking my energy hurt me?"

Luckily for Alec, those fights were far from Magnus' mind. He had a one-track mind when it came to most things, and right now all he wanted was more of Alec, not to push him away. The words came distantly, something he knew so well he could recall it from memory without thinking.

He tilted his head, ducking his chin to he could press a kiss to Alec's hand, then scrape his teeth against his palm. He was in his element, aroused and wanting to arouse.

"It'll exhaust you," Magnus allowed. "Take too much and you might be in danger. But... mm, all you'd need is a good long sleep after the fact. If I'm careful."

Which he would be. Did that need to be said?

Shivering at the feeling of teeth against his skin, Alec had to remind himself to breathe. At least he couldn't make more embarrassing sounds when he could barely remember that he needed oxygen. He almost closed his eyes so that he could focus on Magnus' explanation, but that would lead to Alec making dangerous decisions.

"You'll be careful." It should have been a question, but despite the warnings in the books, he didn't believe Magnus would kill him. Not intentionally. "How long would I have to sleep?" At least he was trying to be logical when what he really wanted was to kiss Magnus again.

Maybe they could forget about dinner and the movie and... No, Alec had waited for a reason. That didn't change because a demon was trying to seduce him. "Magnus, if you weren't an incubus, would you still want to...?" He wasn't sure how to finish that question. Go out with him? Kiss him? Have sex with him?

"I'll be careful," Magnus murmured in agreement, nearly forgetting himself what Alec was talking about. He would be careful with Alec in every way. It was his first time and Magnus wasn't about to fuck that one up either.

The question about sleep was so mundane that Magnus decided he really wasn't distracting the young man sufficiently. His golden gaze flickered up towards Alec's as he wrapped his lips around his pointer finger and sucked, just once, to get his attention back to the matter at hand.

But then he had to go and answer that question. Magnus blinked at him, confused.

"Do you wish I weren't?"
